Black History Month 2025

Western acknowledges and celebrates Black History Month, encouraging the campus and London communities to listen, learn and participate in events.

This year, the theme for Black History Month is Black Resistance. We are committed to recognizing and celebrating how Black people have resisted oppression and discrimination throughout history. At Western, we’re highlighting alumni voices and fostering spaces for the Black community to thrive, ensuring Black stories, experiences and legacies are at the forefront of our programming.

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to host events throughout February celebrating Black Resistance. These events are free of charge, but advance registration is sometimes required. Please see event descriptions for more information. Everyone is welcome to attend.
